The Paper (Season One)
I don’t want to sound too enthusiastic towards this show’s chances, given the fingerprints of its wretched predecessor are all over it, from annoying characters getting their own arcs to often being allergic to the concept of conveying humor. That said, the few jokes it tries to convey are usually successful, these budding relationships are charming and interesting, and the flexibility of the subject matter means there’s no consecutive episodes about boring crap that insults your intelligence. It’s mediocre (fine, even), making it already far superior to The Office in every way, for now, until they (probably) fuck it up.
