The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales (Switch 2 demo)
Nier Automata showed the path forward for Zeldalikes lies in intense combat and stellar music above perfunctory puzzles and fights made for stupid children, and Octopath Traveler 2 proved mature themes and intense imagery can be successfully conveyed in a 2.5D format. Adventures, in other words, is far behind the times and seems to believe its audience will churn pudd over yet another game that reminds them of titles they loved when they were stupid children rather than stupid adults. The game makes a great first impression and the rest is pure nosedive into irrelevance. Nothing to see here, y’all.
