Alien (1979 film)

There are a couple of shots in this film that look less than stellar. It’s a consequence of being an old film, made before the advent of many filmmaking techniques we take for granted, but one of these shots would have been infinitely more impactful if it had cut half a second before it does. I harp on this as it might be the only thing holding Alien back as it is otherwise a gorgeous and taut thriller that doesn’t feel like two hours in the slightest. I harp on the negative because I care, and I care about Alien.
