Stumble (Pilot / Media Day)
If there’s one thing I’d hope against hope network executives keep in mind, it’s that, between Friends, Seinfeld, and HIMYM, plenty of smash comedies had rocky beginnings. That said, plenty of bad comedies also had rocky middles and ends, and while there’s enough here to suggest Stumble could course-correct to a well-oiled machine, it also loves dipping into the lowbrow while beating bits into the ground (it’s already exhausted its running gag of visually censoring material). It helps that the cast feel more like people than walking punchline machines—even Killam tones down his mugging. Lots of potential; we’ll see.
