Paper Trail (2026 short film)

I don’t know if the “problem” is that I quickly surmised where this was going, that it didn’t have much to say when it got there, or that the perspective expressed (I’m trying not to spoil things) has been better realized in countless works over the years. Regardless, I was simply not enchanted with Paper Trail. It is often pretty and one couldn’t say this exhibited a lack of effort and the soundtrack did a lot of heavy lifting, but I couldn’t feel anything towards it once the credits started rolling. A rare dud among Hertzfeldt’s considerable body of work.
