Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge

There’s a key difference between the good character-action games and the bad ones, and it comes when the game over screen hits. In the good ones, I can readily identify what I did wrong. When my avatar dies in Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge (the definitive NG3…?), I’m left grasping for straws towards what I could have done more efficiently. The camera is searching for a better game, and my enemies are equipped with guns that quickly drain health, but after dying several times, I usually find the way to cheese a troublesome fight. That’s not good game design, period.
