Mario’s Picross

There’s this visual novel I bought a while back that I haven’t finished, Murder by Numbers, that sees you solve crimes by completing picross puzzles. It’s a clever twist on the concept and the writing is solid, but I struggle to get through the game because, while I’m down for doing a few picross puzzles, they get old fast and the novelty of seeing a penguin get drawn on screen wears off quickly. If that game struggles to hold my attention, every other version of video game picross is basically doomed from the start. I played this instead of Duskbloods!
