Castlevania Legends

Let’s not go overboard hating this one; it’s not even the worst Castlevania on Game Boy. To that end, the music has its moments, the little writing that’s here is effective, and I didn’t mind having a proper inventory above hoping for good items to drop. The rest of Castlevania Legends is lackluster, the biggest challenge being overcoming the sense of boredom brought on by facing so many similarly slow, uninspired encounters in such a short time. I didn’t even register the final level as the climax until Dracula showed up. Bad stuff, but this series has inflicted greater blights.
