Batman: Arkham Knight
It wasn't the uneven gameplay, odd design choices, or lack of action climaxes that made proceeding through "Arkham Knight" feel like work. What killed it for me was the story, a well-told tale that induces a sense of apathy in those who pay attention to what's going on. You've stopped a crime; your reward is watching a friend die. You've captured a suspect; watch Batman torture him. Batman invites dark stories, but there's a difference between dark and pitch-black, and "Knight" is as dark as an unlit, windowless room with black walls, and about as tacky. Graphics are awesome, though.
