The Leftovers (Season Two)

To go beyond a perfect stopping point with its first season was risky, especially considering this second season ends on a note that demands a third season, something that was never guaranteed. Nonetheless, the central mystery of the Miracle arc brings with it narrative direction to a show that, up until this point, just kind of followed characters as they dealt with their personal demons, and the combination of its hefty revelations and a bonkers late episode makes for one of the best seasons of television of the decade. Still room for improvement, though. It’s not much, but it’s there.
