Super Mario World (revisited)
The first Mario Bros. was challenging and engaging, the second was charming, and the third was challenging, engaging, and charming. “World” is sometimes engaging, but there’s little urgency or challenge to it. I get that this is trying to emulate exploring a world rather than offering a strict path to the end, but no matter how you loop the path, you’re still going to a fight with Bowser. It’s not bad, I suppose, but I’m far past the point where the game can impress me. An Important game that is dwarfed in quality by almost every other mainline Mario game.
