Super Mario Kart
This is a weird racing game, even by casual kart racing standards. It has a cutesy presentation aided by family friendly mascots, but with races that typically last less than two minutes that often devolve to first place being decided in the opening moments while everyone else are crabs in a bucket, making a single mistake can spell your doom, so it represents an oddly stressful experience. The brief races also mean there’s little opportunity for player expression or for these races to evolve, so you’re basically getting the same experience every time you play. Still solid by SNES standards.
