Schitt’s Creek (Season Six)

Having seen the entire series, I can safely attest that, contrary to the party line, “Schitt’s Creek” never gets good. In fact, it concludes with its worst season, a self-impressed torturous viewing experience that doesn’t bother landing a good gag until nine episodes in. A begrudging respect for the drama surrounding the relationships, as well as the absence of a plainly awful character like Andy Bernard, keeps this from getting the goddamn worst, but it’s worth repeating that a comedy that doesn’t reliably land its jokes is not a show worth watching. I can’t believe I have to say that.
