Saint Maud
There’s a lot about “Saint Maud” you’ve already seen before, from being an examination of religion and mental health through the lens of horror as well as where the plot goes (I can hardly spoil it, you’ll call it from the first ten minutes). The film, then, would need to kill it on the execution to earn a recommendation, and holy hell does “Saint Maud” deliver in that respect, throwing in minimal but fantastic CG to punctuate a slow-burning, brief tale, with a climax that’s among the best in horror in a long time. Give Rose Glass more money, please.
