Review (Season Two)

Comedy Central’s recent programming could be argued as representative of a renaissance for comedic television, and their crown jewel is “Review”, a dark-humored classic that flows like “Fawlty Towers” as written by Bryan Fuller. That the tasks the host is expected to review result in increasingly absurd comedic payoffs has been the show’s strength from the start, but the central figure is a man desperate for meaning and structure, and his increasingly failing attempts to attain both through this show takes the subject matter to incredible places rarely explored in television. Possibly the best thing Comedy Central has ever broadcast.
