Rejected (2001? short film)
Don Herzfeldt's breakout short is almost as fresh as the day it was released. Its framing device (arthouse type suffers breakdown trying to pay the bills) sees "Rejected" go over the usual themes of anti-capitalism and art for art's sake that were beyond rote on its release, and that the climax has to address these ideas makes for a weak ending. There's a reason your introduction to "Rejected" likely came in GIF form as the numerous skits that make up the meat of "Rejected" are the sort of inspired madness armies of Newgrounds users have tried and failed to duplicate.
