Long Story Short (Season One)
Some of the drama surrounding explorations and manifestations of trauma works, though it never betters Bob-Waksberg’s little-loved Undone; the problem is, if you’re going to do the whole “load up the humor at the start to sneakily make you care about the characters before bringing the drama”, the jokes must land. Short is yet another sitcom that mistakes awkward situations for punchline, and like The Office, Schitt’s Creek, and Abbott Elementary, it’s a miscalculation that dooms the project. At least the cast are game for all of this, making this leagues above those garbage works, but I can’t recommend this.
