Good Luck Chuck

Remember when the popular opinion held that Dane Cook was worthwhile? As the saying goes, “Hell is other people.” An incredibly mean-spirited comedy that is so devoted with crossing the line of good taste that it never comes back for the punchline—basically, if you don’t look like Cook, fuck you. Jessica Alba is not a great actress, but she’s still far above the material presented to her, and Cook can’t conjure sympathy to save his life. The premise—dude is cursed to know his exes find immediate romantic success—could have been the foundation of something great. Garbage juice.
